iChica is an one-day-deal shop designed for women in the Netherlands, that daily promotes a new product for a 24 hours period, with a limited amount of products. Users can choose their favorite features from the available specifications for a product, and can make online payments, receiving the product afterwards. The application's main functions are the shopping process, member interaction, the blog and the forum; active and devoted members are rewarded with special prices using interactive contests.
The main challenge for this project was developing a scalable and robust solution, for a very large number of simultaneous users. The application has been tested and optimized for loads of 5000 concurrent users and above.
